Day 1 we hit the slopes on Okemo Mountain. The sun was shining, the snow was great, the views were awesome, it was a perfect day! Adam and Jon had fun hitting the park and the superpipe. Kelly and I had fun and practicing our synchronized spinning!
Cozying up around a real wood buring fireplace is probably one of the best things EVER after a long day of snowboarding. Well, that and having a nice, cold, well deserved beer. We got to enjoy both at the Brookside Chalet - a cute little cabin that we rented for our stay. The Chalet was a diamond in the rough. We booked it last minute and it turned out amazing. Kenzie got to come along on the trip too. She loved the cabin and being out in the woods. I think she wants to move to Vermont actually. I wouldn't mind either... the more we visit, the more I love it!
Day 2 we attempted to conquer Killington Mountain. As we drove up to it, we knew it would be a daunting task. That place is HUGE! Our day at Killington started off a little hazy. We hopped on the gondola that disappeared in the clouds. When we got to the top we were all blown away by a Winter Wonderland... everything was covered in snow, it was white on white, almost blinding. It was beautiful! It was another great day of good snow, good riding, and good friends. Adam and Jon spent most of the day in the trees while Kelly and I discovered our favorite run - The Great Eastern.
Afterwards, we went to a local bar called JAX for "Apres Ski". It's a French term for "After Ski", which on the East coast refers to going out, having drinks, and socailizing in your ski gear. It was a good time! We already have plans in the works to make this an annual trip. Can't wait for next year! Miss you guys!!
