Home Sweet Home

I just got back from another great trip to the place I still call home. The trip was short, but sweet. Here are a few cool shots from the plane when I flew in.

So Thursday, I made it home just in time to catch the Light Rail to Target Field... my first game at the new stadium - FINALLY. That was my goal for the summer: experience what everyone has been raving about - an outdoor baseball game during Target Field's inaugural season. Needless to say, it was awesome! There is something intoxicating about being in a new stadium. All the fans just seemed to be happy. Happy to be living in a great state, happy to be cheering on a fun team, and happy to be watching baseball in the sunshine! I loved the State Fair food stands with cheese curds and walleye on a stick... and they served Summit and Michgolden all over the stadium! All these local touches really made me miss home... the evergreens in center field, the flower boxes, all the limestone, Minnie & Paul, etc. I loved it all. One of my favorite things was the main entrance, Target Plaza, with all the statues and beer/food stands outside the stadium. It reminded me a little of the Dome. I'm glad they brought a little of the old in with the new! Our seats were in the upper deck right behind home plate. Though we were up pretty high, the seats were still great! The stadium had a very intimate feel... and the views of the skyline were gorgeous. I can't wait to attend more games here!

While at home I was able to visit a lot of people. As always, not everyone, but again as always, the time goes too fast. I got to visit my grandma in the hospital a few days. I hope she is getting well and can't wait to see her again next month when I am home. I had dinner at Stonebrooke one night with my aunt, mom, and brother. How I miss that golf course! I had a good dinner the the whole fam the night before I dropped my parents off at the airport. They are going to Hawaii and the American Samoa for two weeks (jealous!).

Saturday was a fun filled day with all my favorite girls. It started with Sarah's bridal shower where we ate some food, played some games, and watched the special lady open some gifts. It was a good time. AND I finally got to see Nichole and little baby Levi. He is such a cute little guy! I can't wait to come over and play with him (hopefully on my next trip home!). That night, the boys came over and we all had dinner together before we whisked off for the bachelorette party. We went out on the town in Apple Valley and ended the night at the Farmington Legion. You can't go wrong with that! All in all, we had a great night and I had so much fun hanging out with everyone. Now I am really excited for the wedding!

Sunday was a relaxing day of hanging out on the couch, packing, and jet setting back to Boston. Work was really hard on Monday. I was not ready to be back. The trip went way too fast and I didn't get nearly enough Minnesota in life. I'm already counting down to my return next month!
